Two-storey new-build science block
In June, vietec completed the IT works for a two-storey new-build science block at an academy in Leicestershire. The project included fibre and data cabling, and the installation and configuration of network switching, Wi-Fi, and a technical decant across the campus that included audio-visual.
As part of the project an upgrade to the existing OM4 fibre optic backbone was undertaken throughout the campus including the refurbishment of the kitchen, sports hall, and IT department.
vietec installed 244 Excel Cat6A data outlets across these locations for the school’s voice & data network, that connects to the wireless network, audio visual, CCTV, access control, BMS, and peripheral devices such as printers and digital display screens.
Aruba network switching was upgraded and added throughout these areas to extend the existing school network.
vietec also delivered an extension to the existing Cisco Meraki wireless system, re-established cabling to enable the old block(s) to be demolished and installed Tango Interactive screens into the new locations on wall-walker brackets.
