Excellence in Health and Safety with SafeContractor for The 8th Consecutive Year.

ICT services specialists vietec Ltd has been awarded the accreditation from Alcumus SafeContractor for the 8th Year since 2013 for achieving excellence in health and safety in the workplace.

Alcumus SafeContractor is a leading third-party accreditation scheme which recognises extremely rigorous standards in health and safety management amongst contractors. It is used by thousands of organisations in the UK including SMEs and FTSE 100 companies.

The rise in cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the UK had caused an increase of concern around its effect on the workplace.

Back in the middle of May the government released their COVID-19 secure guidelines. The idea behind the guidelines was to provide businesses and employees with an understanding of the topics to aid their decision making around how to restart their business or continue to work safely during the ongoing pandemic.
vietec has met all covid-19 requirements as part of the SafeContractor accreditation to ensure the ongoing health and safety of staff and the public.

The company’s application for SafeContractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business. SafeContractor accreditation will enhance the company’s ability to win new contracts, and its commitment to safety will be viewed positively by its insurers when the company liability policy is up for renewal. Gemma Archibald, Director of Alcumus

SafeContractor said: “Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place.” “More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that vietec Ltd has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector. SafeContractor plays a vital role in supporting our clients in meeting their compliance needs, whilst working with their contractors as they progress through the accreditation process.”

Phil Drew, vietec, Managing Director of , said “We continually work to improve everything we do and completing the accreditation with SafeContractor, which we have held since 2013 is one of our company annual goals. We believe that ‘to challenge is to help’ and our clients will find vietec enthusiastic in promoting health and safety, innovation and best practice which is even more vital in the current climate.”

vietec’ ethos is built around how safely we can deliver ICT services and solutions; therefore, we continually develop and train employees to uphold these high standards.
